Upholstered Box Seat Cushions

June 2017

This client came to us via our website.  She had bought these solid wood chairs over thirty years ago and had decided to upgrade the cushions, after they had finally gone a little ‘flat’.

We took all of the cushions away to our workshop, where we measured and surveyed the job.  The inserts were actually in very good condition and just needed some plumping with a dacron wrap – with this in mind, we focused on making box seat cushion covers.   We used Linwood ‘Pronto’, which is a machine washable upholstery fabric, for both the main cushion and contrast piping.  The dining chairs were re-upholstered in the same fabric, but a slightly different colour, as was the unusual shaped cushion on the single chair.

Following the delivery of the above, the client then required a selection of colourful scatter cushions to compliment the chairs and we were happy to oblige.  The finished room was just lovely!
