We had the pleasure of working with a small committee of people back in 2016, to update the Plymouth Unitarian Church and give it a new lease of life.
Following a ‘Design and Inspire’ created by Cornish Interiors, we helped the committee with their final fabric choices which needed to be suitable for the commercial environment and cost effective due to the size of the windows, but also reflected the calming atmosphere they wished to create, as well as fitting in with the scheme.
We used the contract fabric supplier, Edmund Bell who specialise in wide width fabric, for the large stage-mural space and windows throughout the church. Having to use a scaffolding tower in fit the new corded curtain tracks and hang all of the curtains, was a new experience for us…these were definitely the tallest windows/highest curtains we had ever worked with!!
The committee wanted something special for an upholstered section on their organ, which touched upon their beliefs of life. With this in mind, together we picked a Morris & Co fabric (Woodland Tree) which sat perfectly next to the stage. The completed look was fresh and really brightened the space.
